As Halloween ended, Toby said to me that October was over and now it was time for the quieter days of November - walks and Thanksgiving. And, it's true. October is very busy with festivals, Halloween preparation, and the big day itself. It's nice when things settle down a bit. By November, the days are really getting cooler and the trees are changing and it's time to get out and enjoy that crisper autumn air and golden light. We made good on this. November 1-3 we took daily walks. It was nice.
On November 1, we headed out to
Arbor Hills. We enjoy it, but it is a very busy park. We park on the east side, not in the main parking lot and start from there. We headed over to the Pavilion area first and went on the unpaved trails for a while, until they were too muddy.

Recent rains really provided the right environment for mosses that grow in the very shaded areas there. |

It's pretty heavily wooded. |

The recent colder weather has the leaves rushing to change. |

Red berries. |

The sun seems to set so quickly in the autumn. I liked how it made these trees look even more orange. |

I liked these delicate white flowers. They seemed a bit out of place, but they were pretty. |

Orange berries against a sunset of a similar hue. |

Lucy and Anthony enjoying the paved trail so they can ride their scooters. |

Lovely range of autumn colors. |

Heading to the playground - mostly in the dark. Yes, that's how we roll. |

The last pic I was able to capture with the trees silhouetted. I have to stand very, very still to make that work with my current iPhone. |
After this, it was time to let the kids play in the park a bit while and then head to our dinner reservations. It was a great start to November!
Thanks for reading!
